NOURISH: How to Make a Perfect Breakfast Sandwich Every Time

I know what you’re thinking: I don’t need to be taught how to make a breakfast sandwich. You make everything and put it together.

Or, you’re thinking: this is not important enough to have an entire article written about it!

But I promise you, this version is going to be the best version you’ve ever had. And breakfast is the most important meal of the day! You might as well have a great one!

Let’s start with the first item: the bread. Whatever bread you choose, you want to make sure that it’s sturdy enough for your sandwich and won’t get soggy too quickly. I like a nice, thick multigrain or challah bread.

Next, you want to make sure that you soft-scramble your eggs and prep your breakfast meat. Soft-scrambled eggs will add a nice textural dimension, and taste way more delicate than a standard fried egg!

And—this is the most important part—do not toast your bread.

Just trust me.

When it comes to assembly, treat your breakfast sandwich like a grilled cheese. Prep your pan with some cooking spray or alternative butter; make sure you butter the outsides of your bread as well, drop your bread in, add cheese, top with you eggs and meat, and whatever toppings you want; add one more slice of cheese and the top slice of bread, butter side up! Press down with your spatula and flip after a couple of minutes.

And there you have it! A sandwich so good, you’ll never want to buy one again.
You’re welcome!
